Lap Siding

Lap siding or horizontal siding is the most traditional type of siding. The name originated as a description of siding that overlaps itself in some way. It comes in a variety of materials. It was most commonly used for wood siding, but can now be found in vinyl and fiber cement boards too.

Metal siding is a durable siding alternative usually made from steel or aluminum. It is fire-resistant and low maintenance. This siding was introduced in 1940 and became popular in the 80s.
